Tabraiz Shamsi was the standout bowler, claiming three wickets for only six runs, achieving an impressive economy rate of 3.27. Marco Jansen also made a significant contribution, taking three wickets.

Afghanistan, having won the toss and elected to bat, struggled against South Africa’s disciplined bowling attack. The Proteas then chased down the target in just 8.5 overs, finishing with 67 balls to spare and only one wicket lost, highlighting their batting prowess and making a strong statement ahead of the final.

With this victory, the Proteas have set up a thrilling encounter in the T20 World Cup final, where they will face either India or England. The second semi-final, determining their opponent, is scheduled for Thursday, June 27th, at 16:30 local time.
